You have your ring.  Now what?!?

Becoming engaged is a very exciting time.  You can’t wait to start your life together and see the future laid out before you.  However, if you are like most couples, even the thought of planning the actual wedding day makes you feel a cross between elated and completely overwhelmed.

In this blog series, I will break it down for you step by step, so you can make informed decisions about how each area affects your wedding pictures.  There are checklists everywhere, but many do not take into consideration your specific needs or explain the decisions that you are about to make.  I will do my best to help you make your own personalized checklist using what is already available online, and answer any questions that you may have.

Check out the customizable checklists on weddingwire.com or the knot.com.  Both offer lists that are comprehensive, yet you can tailor to your specific situations.  You will be able to use these lists as you go through my weekly posts.

The topics that I plan to cover include:

  • How to Choose your Date
  • The Beauty of Bridal Shows
  • Coming up with a Vision
  • The Importance of Hiring a Coordinator
  • Picking the Perfect Venue
  • Choosing the right Photographer
  • What about Videography?
  • Food for Thought about Food
  • DJs Keep the Party Alive
  • Details. Details. Details.
  • Your Wedding Day Timeline ReDefined
  • Amazing Exits

What do you think?  Should anything else be added??  What do YOU need to know about?  Please leave a comment below to tell me what you are struggling with the most.  Suggestions, tips, and advice are always welcome.

P.S… I am going through all of this WITH you.  In 2018, I celebrate my 10th year as a photographer, so I am planning a fun and exciting open house in which my former couples, as well as my current and future ones will all be invited to join in.  I know it isn’t exactly a wedding, but it still requires much of the same planning, coordination, and vendor selections that my couples experience.  I am excited to learn things from the other side (as a client), and share what I have experienced over the last 10 years.  So, this is going to be a great ride, if you will take it with me.
