Sorry ladies, you have a TON of websites that tell you all of the amazing bridal show tips that you should be doing before hitting these fairs and expos.  Everything from setting up a dedicated email account for your wedding to printing off labels with your name, contact information, and wedding date.  You have heard it all before.  Now, it’s the guys’ turn!

There is a really good chance that bridal shows are pretty low on your priority list, but you are a caring and supportive future spouse.  So, off you go with your blushing bride at your side.  Here are a few things that you will need to keep in mind as you enter into this new adventure together.

  1.  Your main purpose at the bridal show is for you to carry her bags.  Yes, the vendors will give you TONS of stuff.  And I do mean tons.  You will walk away from the show with 10 pounds of papers, cards, magazines, samples, and all sorts of little goodies.  Of course, caring that same ten pounds around all day will FEEL like 1000 before it’s all said and done.  How can paper be so heavy?!
  2. Your second main purpose is to listen (this translates to life in general, as well).  You need to listen to the vendors, your bride, the announcements for the fashion show, and any special drawings and prizes.
  3. You will be expected to give your opinion.  This is not the time to just leave everything up to her.  She does want to make sure that the day is a true reflection of both of you, so let her know which shade of blue looks the best and that you love the way a particular flower brings about her beautiful smile.
  4. There will be cake samples and some tastes of the catering… so at least there’s that.
  5. You don’t have to hide your enthusiasm… we know you secretly like all of the attention and goodies that you receive just for being an engaged couple.

Of course, I made this list to bring about a little humor and put a smile on your face.  Bridal shows can be a ton of fun for both of you, and they are super convenient to have everything you need in one location.  Make the most of this opportunity and enjoy the fact that you are engaged.
