Wedding season is here, and I started out my year with an amazing Mitas Hill Vineyard wedding just outside of McKinney, Texas.
I start checking the weather about a week before, though I know that Texas weather can change in an instant. Initially, we were supposed to have nothing but sunshine and gorgeous spring temperatures. Well, that didn’t happen. Instead, it clouded over and threatened to downpour on us all day. But hey, rain on your wedding day is good luck =)
So, Kristin decided to brave the weather and continue to hold her ceremony outdoors. I am so glad she did. It was breathtaking. Just see for yourself!
The coordinator, Brooke Millis of Each & Every Detail did a great job of keeping everyone calm and the entire day on track. The gorgeous flowers were done by my favorite florist, Haute Floral. Kristen always does an amazing job with beautiful colors and textures in all of her arrangements. The food was delicious and location was spectacular. Despite the rain, the day was absolutely flawless.

I absolutely adore these signs as we arrived at Mitas Hill Vineyard. It just sets the tone for a beautiful love story. =) Kristin and her dad did a first look. This is such a sweet moment. Can you believe that entry? It’s just beautiful. Kristin and her ladies are preparing for the ceremony by doing something old, new, borrowed and blue. They closed with a prayer. Blake and his guys were having a lot of fun hanging out before the ceremony.
Kristin and Blake exchanged cards and gifts before their ceremony. In Kristin’s card, Blake included a picture of an adorable puppy that he is getting Kristin as a wedding gift. Can’t wait to see more of the newest addition to their little family.Because of the rain and wind, we decided to do all of the formals inside. They came out so beautiful (it helps that everyone IN the pictures is beautiful, too. That makes my job easy!!!!)The guys (especially Blake) were being so funny. I laughed the ENTIRE time I was shooting them. I absolutely L.O.V.E. this little touch… they had little wraps for the ladies to wear during the ceremony so they didn’t get too chilled. Whoever thought of that is BRILLIANT. Kristin? Brooke? The staff at Mitas Vineyard? I would really love to know… Prepare for the best groom’s reaction in the history of ever…. In the first picture, he is saying “Wow”. He told me later that he saw her rounding the corner before everyone stood up and got upset when he couldn’t see her anymore. He wanted everyone to sit back down. I thought that was pretty awesome. There was so much emotion throughout this whole wedding. They are so happily in love =) The kid’s table was AWESOME. Each kid got their own bag that they could color on, and it was filled with crayons and all kinds of cool things. That cake!!!!
Before the night was over, we stole outside in the misty rain for a cool night shot. We were all so hot that the coolness of the moisture felt so good, and made for some pretty images, too.
What a gorgeous, fun, interesting, wet, AMAZING day! Kristin and Blake, I wish you many blessings in your marriage. Stay fun and have plenty of laughs together.
